Four New Services In the Same Week to: Vienna, Malaga, Izmir and Moscow All Begin This Month

Additional Flights Added On Non-Stop Los Angeles Route

Jeddah, KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA – In preparation for the Eid Il Fitr, school summer holiday break, and Hajj and Umrah season, Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) has introduced four new destinations this summer, and increased the number of seats available on existing routes by deploying more aircraft.

In preparation for the increase in demand for the busy Hajj and Umrah season, SAUDIA has increased the number of seats by 2M, with the deployment of extra charter flights for pilgrims from key markets such as Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Indonesia, India and Pakistan.

The airline will also begin flights to Izmir in Turkey on June 10; Malaga in Spain on June 11, Moscow in Russia on June 12 and to Vienna, Austria on June 16.

June will be a record month for SAUDIA, inaugurating four routes in the same week. The airline has also added two additional weekly flights to Los Angeles, operated with the Boeing 777-300.

The additional passenger growth is also driven from the carrier’s domestic home market of Saudi Arabia, seeing the airline meet the increase in demand by adding new capacity and offering 5.5M seats on 32,200 flights. The forecasted demand for international operations has been met with additional seats also, taking it up to 6.5M seats on 24,100 flights for the upcoming summer holiday peak period.

SAUDIA operates more than 600 domestic and international daily departures from various points within the Kingdom, to 90 destinations across four continents with a fleet of 148 aircraft for the main airline.

The airline operates a fleet of mixed narrowbody and widebody Airbus and Boeing aircraft. By the end of 2020, SAUDIA will reach more than 200 aircraft in its fleet and is currently receiving – on average – one brand new aircraft bi-weekly as part of its fleet revitalization and transformation plan. The carrier has begun operating select flights from the new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and will be transferring the full airline operations in the coming months.
