SAUDIA launches direct flights to Vienna
We are excited to let you know that you are now able to discover more of Europe as we reveal SAUDIA’S latest international destination.
Starting June 16th, the new route will operate four-times-weekly from Jeddah and Riyadh to the Austrian capital city, Vienna.
The total journey time between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Vienna will be under five hours and 30 minutes nonstop from Riyadh.
As an Alfursan member, we will be giving you the opportunity to explore more of the world while earning double status miles upon flying to Vienna.
SAUDIA operates from the new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah
SAUDIA welcomed and greeted passengers to celebrate a momentous occasion – the first airline to operate from the newly-opened King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah (airport code: JED).
The first flight an Airbus A320, flight number SV 1291, was to Gurayat, a northern domestic airport (URY) in Saudi Arabia. The flight departed Jeddah at 05:15 local time on Tuesday 29 May and arrived at 07:10 in Gurayat.
The existing airport in Jeddah and the new terminal will continue to operate concurrently, with a majority of the SAUDIA network set to remain operating from the existing main airport.

SAUDIA achieves double digit passenger growth with 8.3 million guests carried
We are very excited to announce that SAUDIA has revealed mile stone figures, resulting from Q1, 2018.
With the growth of seat capacity at 9%, total passenger growth has steadily increase, carrying 8.3 million passengers and at 19% increase in international guests.
The operations have grown notably both on the domestic and international fronts, flying 52,000 flights in the first quarter, and increase of 5% during the same period last year.
Operational growth has been accelerated with the addition of eight new wide and narrow body aircraft that have joined the fleet taking the total count to 146 aircraft.
SAUDIA receives the new Airbus A320
SAUDIA is happy to announce that a new airbus A320 has been added to its fleet which currently consists of 146 planes. The A 320, will carry a capacity of 144 seats, of which 12 are business class.
The plane counts as the 21st to be handed over under the 30-aircraft deal that was signed back in 2015. SAUDIA is highly focused on modernization and on its development program and aims at reaching 200 modern planes by 2020, flying one of the youngest and modern fleets in the skies
SAUDIA’s fleet consists of 146 aircrafts: A330-300 Airbus planes, 46 A320 and 15 A321 in addition to 12 Boeing B787, and 41 B777.
