SAUDIA awarded ‘best improved airline’

Toyota Prius Competition Winner
SAUDIA are delighted to reveal Mr. Abdullah Feihan Al Otaibi as the lucky winner of the Budget car rental competition. As an exclusive Alfursan member, Abdhullah now gets to drive away in his very own Toyota Prius Hybrid 2017.
The competition was held from 15th January to 31st March 2017 and the electronic draw took place at the Alfursan office in Jeddah in the presence of Mr. Hosam Jamal, the Alfursan team and Budget Management team.
As the Vice President of Process Industries at ABB Automation Co. Ltd, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Mr. Abdullah Feihan Al Otaibi not only gets to enjoy his luxurious, award-winning vehicle but he also earnt himself double Alfursan Reward Miles.

Onboard ban lifted on large electronic devices
King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah and King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh have completed inspection and clearance has been granted by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to permit portable electronic devices (PEDs) on board flights to the United States.
Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) the national and sole carrier operating direct flights between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States, informs all its guests that portable electronic devices may now be carried onboard and accessed throughout the flight.
SAUDIA extends its appreciation to the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the United States Department of Homeland Security for its support and cooperation.
SAUDIA operates to three points in the United States: Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK) and Washington DC (IAD).
SAUDIA adds 4 new Aircraft to fleet
SAUDIA are thrilled to announce the addition of four wide-body Boeing Aircraft consisting of three B787-9 and a B777-300ER Dreamliner to their fleet.
This makes a total of 126 Boeing Aircraft that SAUDIA has as part of their fleet and plans are in the works to raise the number to 200 aircraft. An agreement to acquire 50 new Airbus aircraft is also underway.
The B787-9 Dreamliner is the fastest growing and the most demanded aircraft at the present time. It consists of 298 seats, 24 for First class and 274 for Guest class and is well equipped to provide the maximum degree of comfort and entertainment for our passengers.
SAUDIA have had an incredible relationship with Boeing since the first DC-9 aircraft was added to their fleet more than 70 years ago and we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with them in the near future.
SAUDIA breaks record with 14% increase in passengers
SAUDIA sets a new record for onboard passengers with a growth of 14% for international flights during the first half of 2017.
This rapid growth is a direct reflection from the success of the SV2020 program initiatives implemented by SAUDIA. The business has been dedicated to achieving its goals with the National Transition Program and Vision 2030 specially to improve service to its passengers both on the ground and onboard. They have also been consistent with their fleet modernization and development as well as the increase in the number of international destinations.
SAUDIA is very proud of its recent performance and will continue to expand its activities and provide the best services for its travelers.
More Flights added for the Summer season
With the ongoing commitment to exceed our passenger’s flying experience, we are happy to announce that SAUDIA are offering additional flight options when flying from KSA throughout the peak season (July-September).
This increased capacity is now available for several key international leisure destinations across its route network including the following;
- Flights to Geneva will operate twice-daily.
- Manchester and Munich have an additional two flights per week, taking them up to daily services respectively.
- Los Angeles have an additional two flights added, taking it up to a five-times weekly service.
- Cairo will operate nonstop from five airports within the kingdom (Abha Dammam, Riyadh, Madinah and Jeddah).
This increase in flights is in direct response to heightened summer travel demand, and we are pleased to offer our guests additional flexibility and convenience during the busy holiday period.
